Paul John Peated Single Cask (cask 784), 57,3 %

A special bottling for the Danish market. The smell has this creamy-burned-sugary-peaty notes. And it is not the peat that is in focus. In the end you get some rubbery notes as well.

There is a bit more peat in the taste followed by brown sugar and burned oak. I don’t get much more. A bit simple for a cask strength whisky. The sweetness and some peat stays for a while in the finish. Very simple, very nice!

Fine balance but not that complex. Could very well have been a light peated rum. I will give this 88/100 (21/22/23/22).
